Would you like to become a walk leader?

We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity to join the third training cohort of the Walk Together Pathway.

The Walk Together Pathway is a funded programme for People of the Global Majority* to access Mountain Training’s Lowland Leader, Hill & Moorland Leader, and Mountain Leader training courses. This is a pilot scheme designed to increase the number of walk leaders and walks on offer to under-served communities, getting more people outside into nature.

The pathway is created in collaboration with Bristol Steppin Sistas, Black2Nature, Black Girls Hike, Muslim Hikers, Mosaic Outdoors, NYCE, Peak District Mosaic and Sheffield Environmental Movement, and is supported by Beyond The Edge, Mountain Training, Ordnance Survey, Plas Y Brenin, Sport England, The Ramblers, and the YHA.

*We recognise that not everyone uses the term ‘People of the Global Majority’ as it is only one of the many evolving terms describing racialised communities. For example, some other terms used are; Minority Ethnic, People of Colour, Visible Minority Ethnic, Black and Asian minoritised backgrounds, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour), and BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic).
