Peak District Bouldering FAQs
How do I start bouldering outdoors?
The easiest and probably the safest way to experience Peak District bouldering is on a course! We offer introductory courses to show you the key differences between bouldering indoors and bouldering outdoors. Importantly we teach the safety procedures to ensure your Peak District bouldering last longer than a couple of routes…
We loan you a bouldering pad and rock shoes, so all you need to bring is an appetite for fun.
What happens if it rains?
In the Peak District we have several thousand boulder problems to choose from in a variety of different locations so it is unlikely we won’t be able to find something dry. If the rain is biblical and we need snorkels, fins and a facemask to approach then we will reschedule. For context, we reschedule maybe one or possibly two climbing courses every year – we normally find somewhere dry!
I want to climb a specific boulder problem in the Peak District. Can you help?
Probably. If your project is Voyager (8b) or Brad Pit (7c) and you are just not quite sending it, then we will offer advice but no demonstration! If however you are bouldering in the mid grades then yes.
I am coming to the Peak District for the first time, can you show me some of the classic boulder problems?
Yes. We offer bespoke guiding which includes pad and shoe hire as either a full day or a half day option
