Kids Peak District Adventure Camps
Climbing, weaseling, orienteering, abseiling, den-building, zip-lining, fun, games and challenges… Book the kids on our 5 day adventure holiday club for a memorable week of exploring nature’s playground.
Our adventure camps for 10 – 14 year olds will get your kids off their screens, out of the house and into the hills. They will explore the rocks and woodlands, the undergrounds and overgrounds of the Peak District under the supervision of our hugely experienced and highly qualified instructors. Along the way, they’ll learn new skills, challenge themselves, make new friends and have a whole lot of fun in what’s sure to be a memorable week!
The course schedule is flexible to accommodate the British weather, but the young adventurers are likely to be returning home with tales of the following activities:
- Abseiling off bridges and cliffs
- Learning to rock climb on the Peak District crags
- Squeezing through the ‘weasels’ (mini caves)
- Den building & camp fires in the woods
- Ziplining through the trees
- Testing their balance on a slack line
- Exploring the Peak District in their adventure quest orienteering challenge.
We meet between 0845 and 0900 each day at the Sir William Hotel in Grindleford before transportation to the day’s venue. Pick up from the Sir William Hotel is between 1545 and 1600.
Although we will adapt the sessions according to the weather, the week might look like this…
Day 1: Climbing
Day 2: Orienteering and Weaselling
Day 3: Zip lines and shelter building
Day 4: Limestone adventure day
Day 5: Gritstone adventure day
Whilst the emphasis on our camps is very much on fun, as outdoor educators we have embedded National Curriculum Key Stage three learning outcomes into the weeks. But don’t worry no one will ever know, it’s our little secret…
