Introduction to Rock Climbing    2 - Day Training Course

The ideal course for people with little or no experience who want to try rock climbing on local Peak District crags. Particular emphasis will be on safety and the correct use of equipment. Once basic safety systems have been learnt participants will be encouraged to go at their own pace, climb routes within their ability, and hopefully, become inspired to pursue the sport further. This course is for everyone, whatever age or level of ability. Average fitness is all that is required, as we won’t be visiting any crags that require a long ‘walk in’.

Introduction to Lead Climbing    2 - Day Training Course

This course is for people with some experience of rock climbing, who want to learn to lead climb on natural rock, outside. It is aimed at people who have climbing wall experience (possibly leading inside), as well as people who have done a little previous climbing and therefore know some of the basics. You will learn how to set up belays, use runners, and lead climbs, whilst understanding all the potential dangers involved. Clients will be encouraged to go at their own pace and climb routes within their ability whilst improving their skills in a supportive environment.

Multi-Pitch Climbing    2 - Day Training Course in North Wales or the Lake District

A great opportunity for people with some climbing experience to discover climbing on longer routes. Learn the skills needed to enjoy the adventure of climbing in the mountains. The Beyond The Edge team will introduce you to some classic mountain routes. You will certainly find this course exciting and rewarding.

ACCOMMODATION

Every effort will be made to help you find the right accommodation, whether it is camping, staying in a bunkhouse, Bed and Breakfast or Hotel, that you prefer. We hope to be able to find suitable places close together to reduce any traveling to a minimum.

TRAVEL

Every effort will be made to reduce our impact on the environment, so we will plan to share cars where possible, and we will be happy to meet clients arriving in North Wales or the Lake District by public transport.

Complete Climbing Course 6-Day Training Course

This course has been designed for people who want something of everything, some experience would be useful but everything is covered from the basics to climbing in the mountains. This course consists of our Introduction to Rock course followed by our Introduction to Leading course and finishes with the Multi-Pitch course. The course can be run either over a full week or over 3 weekends. We aim to introduce you to the skills, techniques and variety found in rock climbing. As ever, emphasis will be on safety and the correct use of equipment. Once basic safety systems have been learnt clients will be encouraged to go at their own pace, climb routes within their ability, and hopefully, become inspired to pursue the sport further.

Days 1 & 2        Introduction to Rock based in the Peak District
